There was a lot of time to be distracted. A lot of time to be manipulated. But also a lot of time to be inspired, if you chose to be.

Music is the great balm. A constant. It is what fueled me then and what still fuels me now. My muse remains. And though she is no longer of this earth, she will always occupy my soul. My heart.

As Victor Hugo said, “To love another person is to see the face of God.” I will go along with that. And so is the music.

This record was written and recorded from March 2020 to September 21. It features the solid but playful drumming of Jared Nixon… and the amazing soulful vocals of Ann Gulian. Without them I wouldn’t have been able to achieve what I wanted to.

Leaf Day Boys is a document of what was going on in my head for a year and a half. Reflections on the past, present and future. Songs of love and remembrance…internal and external affairs.

I hope you explore it and I hope you dig it.
