In Response To A Rasputin Winter

False Spring

False Spring
One more slip
Looking for baseball
And a skinny dip slicker
It lies like the weather

Birds bring
Sound of reason
Looking for a way in
In out of the cold
The weather likes to lie

Now we’re moving in a new direction
Air whispering a brief confection
To sweeten up our recollection of hope
Hope it doesn’t take too long

False Spring
One more sip
I want to say something
But I’m biting on my lip again
The weather likes to try

Now we’re swimming up a new direction
Hitting up an old affection
Melting down that last white blanket
And go
I hope it doesn’t take too long.
I hope it doesn’t take too long
Now we’re moving in a new direction
Air whispering a brief confection
To sweeten up our recollection of hope
Hope it doesn’t take too long
